Privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for the Teresa May campaign for Kelowna City Council. It explains what we collect through this website, why, and what we do and don't do with it. If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us through a form on this site:

• Get Involved form: your name, email, optional phone number, the ways you'd like to help, and any message you send.
• 1,000 Conversations form: your name, email, optional phone number, neighbourhood, your answers to the three questions, and whether you asked for the weekly summary.
• Voting reminder (/vote): your email and, if you choose, your neighbourhood.
• Donation record form: the details Elections B.C. requires us to record for a contribution, including your name, address, and contact information.

Our forms also record basic technical details, such as the page you submitted from and how you arrived, so we can understand which outreach is working. We do not use advertising trackers on this site.

Why we collect it

We use your information to run the campaign: to reply to you, to keep you updated if you asked us to, to organise volunteers and events, and to share what Teresa is hearing across Kelowna. Donation details are recorded because Elections B.C. requires candidates to keep proper contribution records, and contributions of $100 or more are reported to Elections B.C. with the contributor's name and address.

We never sell your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We use it only for campaign communication.

Who helps us handle it

Form submissions are delivered to the campaign by Web3Forms and may be recorded in a private Google Sheet that only the campaign team can see. These services process the information on our behalf so we can receive and organise it. We keep it only as long as we need it for the campaign and for any records Elections B.C. requires.

How to unsubscribe or make a request

You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to see or delete the information we hold about you, at any time. Just email [email protected] and we'll take care of it. Every weekly summary also includes a way to opt out.
